  • Drum beats its way to Number 8

    Ian Dipple

    19 February 2008

THE THUNDERING and exhilarating rhythms of an ancient Japanese art will be pounding out at Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore.
Members of the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers present The Way of the Drum, A Celebration of Traditional Taiko Drumming at the High Street venue on Thursday, February 28.
An engaging and dynamic show will offer audiences a unique insight into this powerful fusion of primal rhythm, dance and athleticism to captivate audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Returning to the roots of Taiko Drumming, the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers will be performing traditional Taiko pieces from Japan and revealing the history and culture of this fascinating folk art in a lively and entertaining concert.
The show premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2003 and has since become a popular touring production, wowing audiences with its energy and excitement.
The Way of the Drum starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £14 or £13 concessions. To book contact the box office on 01386 555488.
